Do I have to pay anything to bring a claim?

Until 1st April 2013, Law Firms could fund cases on a no win no fee basis with a guarantee that no matter what the outcome of the case, the Solicitors would ensure that you were not responsible for any legal costs and if successful, you recovered 100% of the compensation awarded to you. Since 1st April 2013, the Law has changed significantly. The Government introduced measures which have had detrimental effects of innocent victims of accidents despite significant lobbying against the new rules by our Firm in association with the Association of Personal Injury Solicitors and independently. The greatest impact of the new reformed rules concerns the funding of personal injury cases is in respect of legal costs if your case is successful. The person (or their insurer) who is responsible for your accident continue to make payment of your compensation but unfortunately, will only make a token payment in respect of legal costs. The amount of costs which Solicitors can now recover for you have been significantly slashed regardless of the amount of work undertaken for you. This results in a significant and substantial shortfall in the overall bill. As a Law Firm, we will always act in your best interest throughout the entirety of your case. Our work includes investigation of liability, gathering witness evidence, arranging medical evidence and rehabiitation, quantifying your case for you and issuing and progressing Court proceedings if necessary. Lamb and Co has an unblemished complaints and negligence record and it is therefore very important to ensure that you entrust your case to a firm who acts solely and completely for your benefit and yours alone. From April 2013, we will continue to act for you on a no win, no fee basis although we must now ask our clients to set aside up to 25% of their compensation for the compensation to assist in covering some of your own legal costs in pursuing the case for you if your case is successful. It is therefore crucial that you entrust your case to a Law Firm with an exemplorary client care record in order to ensure that you recover the absolute maximum in compensation for you. Any case which is not successful will mean that you will not be responsible for any of the costs incurred in progressing your claim for you.
